How to play bass - Geddy Lee's five major lines should learn

If you are on your trip, how to play bass, in my opinion one of the most important ways to progress is how to learn challenging tracks by bassist and admire you (not necessarily the same). Geddy Lee has anchored the lower end of the Canadian trio Rush power for over 35 years and has always inventive bass lines and sophisticated in this period. Here are 5 of them.

1) YYZ

This was originally featured on the album Moving Pictures -that many people think was the culmination of the career of Rush. YYZ is an instrumental piece - if you learn the melody and reproduce perfectly the performance of the time you can pat on the back, your bass playing is evident in the right direction. This song has everything in short solos, chorus riff, groove one point and there are more. 4 minutes of magic.

2. Free Will

For most of the melody of the bass line is pretty simple - ifThere are many different time signatures to fight. That changes with the guitar solo and lead. Geddy who plays here is almost as if they were to vote on another - there are 28 bars of Chaos 12:08 this form, a large study, only on their own.

3. 2112

This is one of my favorite Rush songs of all time. Learn to play all 15 minutes of the piece is a master class in memory and endurance. Some of the most rock melody alsocontain some good study material for the further development and innovation.

4. La Villa Strangiato

La Villa Strangiato first appearance on the album hemispheres - and though the album has received universal acclaim at the time I remember this song was a little 'nerd. Over time, however, is a solid favorite of the fans - and you should try. The virtuosity on display from all the members of Rush jaw drop.

5. MalignantNarcissism

This is crucial for the CD Snakes & Arrows and a short. The bass line is a fast, hypnotic-sounding, right hand chops to the test max.

Summary

During his career as Geddy Lee of Rush has a lot of great bass performances. And the 5 above, there are many great bass lines in the Rush catalog that you can soon learn to analyze and incorporate into your own play lists. The All The World's A Stage liveAlbum is in my opinion a great place to work the previous sample of Geddy.
