Hot Time, Summer and FC

I had an interesting conversation about the city and in summer a couple of nights ago.

A friend said, between the booming beats throughout the district clubs, long lines of scantily clad Youngin, and the number of parked cars with lights flashing, as he does not like summer in the city.

Shootings, fights, police everywhere. General chaos and disorder, only worse, etc.

Bah, falsehood, "he said.

I thought.

Sure, there are a lot of shit stuffhappens in every city where the blows of warmer weather. Noise, pollution, violence resulting in unfortunate stupidity ... These are endemic in many cities in summer-Nice.

But there is so much love, too.

Last weekend in Toronto, for example, was a great example of Urban Summer Awesomeness.

Sure, it was a holiday, but I've never seen so much activity, so stupid and fun, and good temperament, to oppose the "run the city in summer boo"Feelings.

Mojito Friday afternoon at the Drake Hotel were beautiful refreshing, which was usually packed Sky Yard clear and waitresses were talkative and smiles.

Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar was the same, delicious, fresh and fabulous. Rio has been to find a ladder, and friendly faces were in abundance. And 'as if everyone forgot their regular Torontonians act cool and quiet. Maybe it was the influence of tourism.

Caribana, the largest festival of its kind in North America,Attractor, said the biggest tourist weekend. He had a lot of dancing and festivities on the lake, most of the weekend, not to mention the Yonge Street Saturday evening.

While some stores were closed early ahead of the post-parade Mayhem, the weather was anything but friendly, open and relaxed summer. I took off spontaneously Caribana last year to attend the parade, as many do, and I can tell you that you are doing much more than jump. It 's probably the closestwhat we get this city to a style of music festivals in New Orleans, is as large as the correct scale and down-Canadian.

Another great shedding-of-the-Canadian-image occurred Saturday evening at the legendary Silver Dollar Room, the venerable institution, Blues. Authors Canadian band were celebrating the release of their latest CD, Towtruck.

First held a half-full, all-cash yet, they soon had the place rocking out, and many localsHe went down and dirty in the limited space in front of the band. Not only are the "guilty" great musicians who are good guys, and certainly bring their Blues influences on their collective sleeve. The crowd danced and sucked every last oz bourbon-soaked

A Harry Potter Convention was held in the city, and you form a positive movement among the people at this moment, I do not know what it is. All this talk of satanic influence is nonsense, I prefer myDaughter of Harry Potter Paris Hilton. Who is the real Satan?

Girls and boys of all age groups swam in the lobby of the Sheraton Centre with coats and ties and conical hats Hogwarts. Even in the early morning hours, they sat in the lobby to speak of books and music and gesticulating excitedly.

The girls, in particular, seem to be pulled in all directions, and more than ever. I saw all types of clothing - an inspiring, some disturbing, some defiantly unique - more thanthe weekend. It seems like young women do not want their youth, but then appreciated, it seems that we the young people to use in every corner, and then a 12 years old to do?

Now they could play sports, for example.

I've seen a number of girls outside the stadium BMO one of the biggest events in the city yesterday, the soccer game between Toronto FC and the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Without doubt see the blonde British Bender David Beckham were all proudequipped in their best football socks, flat shoes with Velcro, running shorts and numbered jerseys. It 'been so nice to see how the girls look like ... Girls. intercept of this treatment she chatted animatedly, ready to leave (work) and chanting slogans team.

Sitting in the average total box too dark last night to watch the festivities, I could not help but admire the bridge-building and good humor has supported the Toronto FC. All nationalism edgy and undisciplinedPassion from a bad night at the FIFA U-20 tournament was dissolved a few weeks ago, people of all colors and backgrounds stood together as one for the team.

As if to emphasize the unity, a huge Toronto FC Flag, almost the width of the stadium itself around the stadium was a sea of eager hands pride red handed in the middle of a pristine environment is not completely fool some trash-sport talk - a Banners read: money does not buy respect Beck. Whatever. The game was not over Beckhambe shown how the crowd.

Many were waving their feet the entire game, cheering, chanting, flags and banners. What difference is the animation and enthusiasm from a Leafs game.

Not all of our stern alleged national treasure, but relatively speaking, fans have nothing to Leafs Toronto FC fans. Maybe it's the demographic development. Maybe it's the fact that tickets are affordable. Maybe it's cultural diversity, attracting the sport football. In any case, was theQuantity does not, Beckham, even the most exciting moments of the game-score was lower than that fascinates me.

Ads in the opening game are hilarious: "Do not swear" (Boos), "Do not throw things on the ground" (more boos), "any obscene behavior" (laughter of someone I had pictures of the moon, a giant "Go TFC" in red paint on each cheek ... maybe next time ...). As a Canadian, I'm trying to keep everything nice and clean and nice, if the history of football is everythingbut.

Fans in the southeast corner of the stadium, most of the rough, with constant chants, banners and all sorts of reaction to the calls. I felt like a game in Europe was.

However, all were very well behaved, when excited, although the mood in the press box had a strange sound from serious front-plowing. Perhaps it was the testosterone, I counted exactly one other woman in the box to start the game, and was wild type.

Perhaps it is, as I was absorbingpassion and devotion of the crowd and tried to put into words what the atmosphere must have been so far outside of this window.

Next time I tell myself that no popcorn, beer and socks all the way, or Becks.

There is nothing like the city in summer.
